Toyota Warranty Overview and Coverage Details

Your Toyota model comes with a few different warranties — the Toyota New Vehicle Warranty, Accessories Warranty, Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Warranty and a Hybrid Warranty.¹ Here’s a breakdown of each type of warranty and what it covers:

The New Vehicle Warranty includes:

Basic Coverage 36 months/36,000 miles¹

Toyota models come with a basic limited warranty. This warranty covers the electrical and mechanical parts of your vehicle — any wear and tear is not covered.

Powertrain Coverage 60 months/60,000 miles¹

Powertrain Coverage takes care of your Toyota model's engine, front-wheel or rear-wheel drive system, transmission/transaxle, airbags and seatbelts.

Rust-Through Coverage 60 months/unlimited miles¹

This covers the corrosion perforation of sheet metal on your Toyota model.

Additional Warranties

Accessories Warranty 36 months/36,000 miles¹

If you purchase a genuine Toyota accessory when you buy a new Toyota, the accessory will be covered for 36 months/36,000 miles. If you buy an accessory after the purchase of your vehicle, the accessory will be covered for 12 months/unlimited miles from the installation date or for the remainder of the new vehicle warranty, if applicable, whichever is longer.¹

Toyota Certified Used Vehicles undergo an extensive 160-point inspection. TCU Hybrid Vehicles go through a 174-point inspection. With the purchase of either type of Toyota Certified Used Vehicle, you will receive a limited comprehensive warranty beginning on the date of purchase.²

Toyota hybrids come with a Toyota New Vehicle Warranty and Hybrid-Related Component Coverage, which covers hybrid-related components like the HV battery, hybrid control module and inverter with converter and battery control module.¹ Originally, Toyota hybrids were covered for eight years or 100,000 miles, but now, Toyota hybrids from the 2020 model year and on are covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first!

This hybrid warranty was originally eight years or 100,000 miles. However, it has increased. Starting with 2020 model years, hybrid vehicles are now covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles — whichever comes first.

ToyotaCare

Lastly, new Toyota models come with ToyotaCare. ToyotaCare is a no-cost maintenance plan that covers routine maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first).⁶ Plus, enjoy 24-hour Roadside Assistance for two full years and unlimited miles of coverage.
